Special Needs Children
Kiddies Aqua Swimming Academy presents lessons for children with special needs.
Our Special Needs Kids are VERY SPECIAL to us. We love them to bits. We take individual care of each one of them and try to build a strong trust relationship that will enable us to add excellent value to their development.
With specialized, individual focused attention from our instructors these kids learn much faster than in larger groups. They develop a strong feeling of accomplishment when mastering certain strokes in the water. We get into the water with them and present these lessons in a fun-filled productive manner.
Each lesson forms another valuable building block in the special development of these special people. ​We work mostly with Special Needs Kids diagnosed with symptoms like Down Syndrome, muscular dystrophy, multiple sclerosis, autism, blindness and deafness.
A Champion
Jan-Herman Els is one of our ex-swimmers who currently holds 11 world age-group records.
​
Jan-Herman has Down syndrome and started-off with us at the age of 9-years, not being able to walk from one side of the pool to the other.
Within three years he mastered all the swimming strokes and started to participate in competitive events.
He is currently the South African Champion in several events he participates in and represents the country regularly at international level.
